About LeakHunter
Discover our vision and join us on the journey from concept to product. Meet our dedicated employees who strive to deliver innovative solutions for building quality assurance.
Our vision with LeakHunter
is that your construction project passes the pressure test on the first try.
The heat loss of the home must be minimized and the building envelope must be airtight so that the planned ventilation system will function optimally. In the process of ensuring an airtight building envelope comes the difficult task of making sure the installed vapor barrier is airtight. LeakHunter is the tool that makes this job easy.
A density plan can consist of many different products including:
- OSB-Top4 in min. 15 mm with proven Z-value and airtightness.
- Vapor brake
- Back wall in concrete, masonry gas concrete, etc.
- PE foil
Every construction method has different challenges and focuses, but LeakHunter will guide you through every challenge no matter what material you're building with.
From concept to product
LeakHunter was born as an idea back in 2008 when Lars saw a large number of cases failing the final pressure test. This included cases where the quality and tightness of the installed vapor barrier was not satisfactory. For example, the entire first floor could have to be rebuilt, which could quickly cost over 500.000 Euro in extra work.
It was found that if there was a tool on site that could show where the leaks were and provide quality assurance that the overall tightness of the building was satisfactory, a lot of frustration and money could be saved. And that's exactly what LeakHunter does.
Lars Due
Bricklayer & civil engineer
Lars is the mastermind behind LeakHunter and is the acting CEO. Lars has many years of experience in pressure testing and blower door testing and has measured virtually every construction challenge in terms of airtightness.
Lars has been working with Roskilde Technical College since 2004 on continuing education courses in vapor barrier installation and today these courses are implemented as part of the carpentry education. Lars' curiosity and knowledge of vapor barrier installation and pressure testing laid the foundation for the development of LeakHunter.
Anders Rosten
Mechanical Engineer
Anders is a passionate mechanical engineer with an eye for detail and is responsible for the technical development of LeakHunter.
"The development of LeakHunter has been a wild process. The first prototype looked like a space rocket and weighed over 40 kg. Now we finally have LeakHunter, the result of a multi-year development project developed in collaboration with DTU and a large number of subcontractors. The fact that we have succeeded in creating a compact and intuitively usable product that can help the craftsman to quality assure his work and even push the construction industry in a more sustainable direction is for me super cool, good hunting."
Let's work together to make a difference
Did you know that the construction industry generates over 30% of Denmark's waste?
Here at LeakHunter, we are committed to sustainability in the construction industry and you can help. With LeakHunter, you can leak test your building as many times as you want. This way you can avoid failing and therefore save resources.
Nowadays, we see a trend towards more sustainable construction with biogenic building materials and a strong focus on the CO2 footprint. But remember that leaks lead to unintentional heat loss and energy waste that is in no way sustainable.
Build ecologically and with biogenic materials, but manage heat loss and still ensure an airtight vapour barrier to optimize the entire balance sheet, i.e. the carbon footprint during the construction phase, from the materials and the energy consumption of the finished building.
Build tight! Ventilate right!
